1 If you have taken Misoprostol, your body is now beginning a process similar to labor in order to expel the baby and placenta. While businesses that profit from abortion may have told you this would be “like a heavy period,” the reality is often much more intense, both physically and emotionally.1,2 This kit has been carefully assembled to help you: • Empower yourself with knowledge about what is happening and what may happen. • Assess abortion completion by identifying and understanding when the process is complete. • Recover and stabilize your baby’s remains so that you may see, acknowledge, and honor her or him if you choose. • Evaluate blood loss and health to protect yourself and recognize when to seek medical attention. Collection Pan Fits in your toilet to help measure and monitor blood loss. Colander Used to catch and identify your baby’s remains and placenta. Squirt Bottle Fill with plain water to rinse and identify the contents in the colander. Plastic Jar with Cover To store and protect your baby’s remains for viewing or covering. Saline Solution or Packet To gently stabilize your baby’s remains inside the jar until burial if desired. Disposable Gloves Optional to wear while handling remains or cleaning the colander. Sanitary Pads Helps manage and track bleeding throughout the process. On page 14 of this booklet to record blood measured when emptying the collection pan. Blood Loss Chart Understanding the C.A.R.E. Kit & What’s Inside This brochure and kit are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional.

Where Did the Pills Come From? Mifepristone is taken at the clinic or at home. It blocks progesterone, a hormone necessary to sustain pregnancy. Without it, the uterine lining breaks down, cutting off oxygen and nutrients, causing the baby to die. If you have taken Mifepristone, Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) may still be possible with progesterone treatment. Call the Abortion Pill Reversal Hotline at (877) 558-0333 if you regret taking the first pill. If Step Two (Misoprostol) is not taken, some pregnancies may continue naturally, but APR will significantly increase survival chances. An ultrasound can verify if the baby is still alive. 64% OF WOMEN FEEL PRESSURED INTO ABORTION.3, 4 84% SAY THEY WEREN’T FULLY INFORMED.5 1 IN 10 FACE SERIOUS MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS.6 Mifepristone (RU-486) Misoprostol 24-48 hours later, Misoprostol is usually taken by placing pills in the cheeks of your mouth. These pills cause severe cramping, contractions, and heavy bleeding, expelling the baby. The process can last hours to days and is often intensely painful. If Misoprostol is taken alone without first taking Mifepristone, there have been reports of babies moving after expulsion. Be prepared for this possibility and seek guidance and support if it occurs (refer to page 8). If you have taken Mifepristone, Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) may still be possible. Call the Abortion Pill Reversal Hotline at (877) 558-0333 for more information. If you received pills online or from an unverified source, ask yourself: • Do I trust where they came from? • Was the packaging sealed, safe, and clearly labeled? • Were instructions included—or do I truly know what I’m taking? • Could I have received something other than abortion pills? We’ve seen women unknowingly receive antibiotics or anxiety medications mixed in with abortion pills in unmarked baggies. If you are unsure, please don’t guess. ABOUT THE ABORTION PILL 2 The abortion pill consists of two drugs taken in separate steps to intentionally end a pregnancy. The FDA approves its use up to 10 weeks, but some facilities use it off-label beyond this timeframe, increasing risks.

• Excessive bleeding (soaking more than 2 pads in one hour) • Fever over 100.4°F lasting more than a few hours • Severe, worsening pain • Foul-smelling discharge (possible infection) • Weakness or dizziness upon standing up • Shortness of breath BE HONEST WITH YOUR DOCTOR. YOU WILL NOT GET IN TROUBLE. WARNING: If you are soaking more than two pads in one hour, call your medical provider. 500 mL of blood loss in 24 hours is considered a postpartum hemorrhage and requires immediate emergency medical attention. Do not wait until you have lost 500 mL of blood to seek medical attention. RISKS & COMPLICATIONS Some abortion pill providers advise women to lie and say they are having a natural miscarriage. However, withholding information about taking abortion pills can lead to improper or delayed treatment. Your doctor needs to know what medications you’ve taken to give you the best care. Being honest could save your life. If you experience any of these symptoms, go to the emergency room immediately: WHEN TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION • Heavy bleeding (9-16 days; 8% of women bleed over 30 days). • Severe cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches. • Failure rate increases with gestation age (up to 13% at 10-11 weeks).2 • Incomplete abortion may require surgery or antibiotics. • Infection and/or ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy not in the uterus) can be fatal. A no-cost evaluation can rule out ectopic pregnancy (which makes the pill dangerous) and confirm if the pregnancy is already non-viable, making the abortion pill unnecessary.

Visit AbortionPillReversal.com for more information. Do NOT take the second abortion pill (Misoprostol, or Cytotec®). WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? • Mifepristone (normally the first pill taken) blocks progesterone, starving the baby of nutrients. • APR restores progesterone with an injection or pills, giving your pregnancy a chance to continue. • Some pregnancies may continue on their own if Misoprostol (the second pill) is not taken, but APR can significantly increase survival chances. • Success rates are highest within the first 24 hours, but reversal has been effective up to 72 hours after taking the first pill. • Progesterone has been safely used in pregnancy for decades. • If you have taken Misoprostol, it is likely too late to reverse the process, but it is still worth calling the hotline immediately to see if there are any updated protocols. ABORTION PILL REVERSAL (APR) It may not be too late! How Does APR Work?7,8,9 Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) uses progesterone—a natural hormone your body produces to support pregnancy—to counteract the effects of mifepristone. 5 USING THE C.A.R.E. KIT: Catching the Blood & Tissue Rinsing the Colander Repeating the Process • This process may need to be repeated multiple times before the baby and placenta are fully passed. Record blood loss each time. • If you do not find the baby, it may have broken down before delivery. You can schedule an ultrasound with your doctor to verify. • Once you find the baby, turn to Page 9 to learn how to preserve remains with dignity. If you don’t find the baby, refer to the bottom of Page 9 • After recording blood loss, bring the colander to the sink and gently rinse with soft running water or the squirt bottle to remove excess blood. • You may begin to identify blood clots, the placenta, and the baby’s body or sac (see Page 7). The placenta does not stretch. Blood clots stretch and should be put back into the collection pan for measurement to add to the blood loss chart. Fetal remains have various shapes and sizes based on gestational age. (see Page 7). Record Blood Loss • Use the collection pan to estimate blood volume. • Each time you empty it, first record how much blood is lost on the included Blood Loss Chart on Page 14. • Compare to the warning signs on Page 3. • Place the collection pan and colander under the toilet seat as shown on Page 8. • When passing blood or clots, use the collection pan and colander in the toilet. • Remove the pan when urinating, but hold the colander in place to urinate through it to catch anything that may pass. WARNING: If you have excessive bleeding (soaking more than 2 pads in one hour) seek medical attention. This brochure and kit are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional.

We strongly recommend a post-abortion check-up with your doctor to ensure: Rest as much as possible—avoid strenuous activity for a few days. Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water and replenish lost nutrients. Monitor your bleeding—heavy bleeding should decrease over time. Take note of any pain—cramping should lessen, not worsen. Physical Recovery CARING FOR YOUR BODY & NEXT STEPS Your body has been through a lot. Proper self-care is crucial to ensure your health. Scheduling a Follow-Up Appointment • Your uterus is empty and healing properly • There are no retained tissues or infections • Your body is recovering as expected • If you have not had any abortion symptoms This information is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Please consult a healthcare provider. Questions? Reach out to a Nurse at abortionpilltalk.com. WARNING: Medical images are shown on the next page to help you identify tissue. 6

COLLECTION OF BLOOD AND BABY’S REMAINS If you take the second abortion pill, your body will begin the process of expelling the baby and placenta. This can take several hours or even days. Every woman’s experience is different, but many report significant cramping, heavy bleeding, and passing of large clots. If you are unsure of what you’re seeing, seek medical help. You deserve full care and accurate medical information. • CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY. • Gently wrap your baby in a clean towel and keep them warm until help arrives. • Do not assume your baby cannot survive. • Every life matters—seek medical help right away. If You See Signs of Life: In some cases—especially in the second or third trimester—the baby may show signs of life after expulsion (such as movement or breathing). This kit and abortion pills are not intended for use after the first trimester. It is important to have an ultrasound to know to how far along you are. Please talk to the nurses at www.abortionpilltalk.com to schedule a no cost appointment near you. You May Feel: • Have your kit ready before taking any abortion pills. If you have already taken the first pill, you can reverse the process if desired. Call the Abortion Pill Reversal Hotline at (877) 558-0333 for more information. If you have already taken the second pill, have your kit ready before the abortion pill begins working. • Bring it into the bathroom as soon as you start spotting. • Review the step-by-step instructions on Page 5 to understand each step in advance. • Consider having someone nearby in case you experience excessive bleeding or unexpected complications. When to Use the C.A.R.E. Kit: • Mild to intense cramping (similar to labor contractions) • Heavy bleeding (much more than a period) • Nausea, chills, or dizziness • The urge to push or pass tissue 8 Not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional.

Stabilizing Your Baby’s Remains You can grieve in a way that honors your baby and brings you peace. • Check Local Laws: Each area has different laws on the disposal of human remains. • Personal Memorial: Many women choose to bury their baby in a garden, plant a tree, or create a special resting place. Again, check your local laws first. • Local Help: Some organizations that distribute the C.A.R.E. kits can give burial advice and references. • Small Caskets: Available at HeavensGain.org. This is a deeply personal decision. You may need to grieve; and you can do that in a way that honors your baby and brings you peace. To further slow deterioration, store the jar in a refrigerator. Keep it covered for privacy and dignity. Refrigeration & Next Steps You are not required to view your baby. Some women find it healing, others choose to cover or store the jar without looking. This is entirely your choice. What if you prefer not to look? Steps to Stabilize the Remains The saline solution is not a full preservation method. Breakdown of the remains will still occur. • Step 1: Add the saline packet and 8 ounces of water to the jar • Step 2: Gently place your baby inside. • Step 3: Secure the lid tightly. Placing Your Baby in the Jar If you find your baby during this process, you may choose to stabilize the remains. This can allow you time to process the experience and decide how you wish to honor your baby. What if you don’t find the baby? It’s possible the baby passed in fragments or was too small to recognize. However, do not assume the abortion is complete. Retained tissue may lead to infection or sepsis. Please seek a follow-up ultrasound from your medical provider to confirm completion and protect your health. This brochure is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional.

• Ataúdes Pequeños: Disponibles at HeavensGain.org.

Si no estás segura, no hagas conjeturas.
